Breezing Hill Farm offers training of horses and riders in dressage and eventing. Owner Vanessa Craft has competed through the preliminary 3-Day in eventing and through 3rd level in dressage. We use a combination of ground work and mounted work to strengthen and supple the horse's body and mind. We specialize in giving confidence to sensitive or hot horses in their work both at home and at shows. Vaness also partners with Ginger Long of Equetec to develop specific exercise programs that target a horse's particular weakness, stiffness and resistance.

Horses are accepted for training on a weekly or monthly basis. Our facility offers rolling terrain for fitness, large stalls that open to individual pastures, an all weather arena with lights and jump field.

Breezing Hill Farm services and fee schedule

Training Board: $700 per month. Includes feeding three times per day, fresh water twice per day, free choice hay available at all times, pasture with 24-hour access to stall, ground work and riding 6 days per week (unless we are buried under ice and snow!) We have an all-weather sand arena, a jump field and hills and trails for fitness. We work with Ginger Long of Equetec to develop a personalized training program for each horse that will develop the horse�s mind and body to its potential. Each horse will receive an initial evaluation by Ginger, which includes a personalized training program. (fee to be paid to Equetec). When the horse is ready to move up to a new level, we will schedule a follow-up session with Ginger to evaluate the horse�s progress and identify specific weak areas that need to be strengthened.

Competition Prep.: Schooling fee plus mileage. Schooling fees are typically $25 - $35 depending on the facility. Competition prep includes cross-country schooling and competing at schooling combined tests, dressage shows and hunter/jumper shows to acclimate the horse to the competition environment and to give him new sights and sounds to become accustomed to.  

Competition: All show fees for the horse (entry, stabling), plus mileage, plus $75 per day for my expenses. We prefer scheduling recognized competitions about 6 weeks apart. This gives the horse time to recover both mentally and physically and for us to address any training issues prior to the next competition. Schooling shows and other competition preps will be worked in between the recognized competitions as needed. We will design a competition schedule that works best for your horse to give him mileage and increase his value while not sacrificing his body or mind.

Coaching: Available at select dressage, combined training and horse trials.

Lessons: $45 for a one hour private lesson. Lessons are at my facility in Oxford or at your farm for $60 plus travel. We also schedule 4 to 5 cross-country schooling sessions per year at a variety of facilities. Lessons for owners of horses that are in training at BHF are discounted.
